Botkier Gemma Tab Flap Hobo - 2012
Do any of you remember when "trolls" were all the rage? I would guess this was about 15 years ago or so,New air jordans shoes, but needless to say, almost every girl I knew had their own troll collection. Trolls are little plastic dolls with bright fluffy hair and a gem for a belly button. Megs and I had our fair share of trolls and every time we would get a new one, we would focus on the color of the gem. So, it should come as no surprise that I had to write about the Botkier Gemma Tab Flap Hobo when I saw it. The jewel/gem-like hardware instantly caught my eye and as soon as I saw it, the first thing that came to my mind? TROLLS! But enough about trolls, let's discuss the bag a bit. I truly like the shape of the hobo, but I am not so sure about the color of the bag. I realize Botkier is going for a modern look here, I'm just not sure if it is too modern for me. Actually, I have a soft clutch in the same gunmetal color which I completely adore, but I think that really works for me because it is smaller than this hobo. Like I said, I do like the shape of the hobo and the leather is sure to feel as smooth as it looks. I am a huge fan of magnetic tab closures and this hobo sports one. I am not exactly sure why I like the magnetic closures so much, but if a handbag I am interested in has one, the chance of me buying it definitely increase! All in all, it is a well thought-out hobo, but because of the color I'm still on the fence. Buy through Nordstrom for $675.

Last week I wrote about the Lilly Pulitzer for LeSportsac Large Weekender, and opinions about the bag were decidedly split. I can totally understand why - pastel pink and green florals are certainly not for everyone,New air jordans shoes, particularly if you didn't grow up appreciating Lilly Pulitzer like many people in my part of country did.
Just because a lot of people didn't like that option doesn't mean that those people don't also have a need for an overnight bag, and that's why I present, for your consideration, the Treesje Fatal Duffle. It's multi-colored, patterned, and completely different than anything Lilly Pulitzer has ever made.
Ok, so maybe it's not completely different - it still contains pink. That's where the similarities end, however. I think skulls have been more or less played as far as they can go, but Treesje has been making bags with this motif for about a year, so I'll let that go. It's not the greatest bag I've ever seen, but I certainly wouldn't mind slinging it around in an airport from time to time. For the money, though, I'd buy two of the LeSportsac Weekenders and be done with it. Buy through Luna Boston for $250.

The Chanel Backpack has every nod to the classic aesthetic of the house, from the chain strap detailing to the tweed body.I personally prefer the modern design of the ridiculously priced The Row Backpack, but something about this rather obvious creation lures me in anyway.
The bag isn't all that practical it seems, with a rather slim body and two spacious outside pockets, both with the classic Chanel logo on the outside.But some designs aren't supposed to be the most usable, they are fashion statements.Just like my Prada messenger bag barely fit the necessities when I carried it in high school, this Chanel bag may not hold every book and folder you wish, but it sure is pretty.More info to come closer to the bag's release this summer.

I think I can help you out! First of all, congratulations on the baby girl! You must be thrilled. You need to be a chic and stylish mom that still carries a bag that is practical. My focus for you will be a large bag, most likely a tote or messenger, that will have structure and pockets for you to store all the necessities that motherhood brings. Another main concern is that you will need as many hands as you can get with an infant, three would be preferable but we need that you have your two hands free. So the goal is to find a light-weight, large, pocket/storage friendly tote or messenger. This can be done! I will give you a list of viable options and we can go from there!

This nylon tote is available in cream and pink. There are a few reasons I like it. First, it is nylon. Nylon is easy to clean and even if you don't want to spill or make a mess, it is inevitable. This tote will also be very light weight and has two outside side pockets (I am thinking a bottle can fit in it!) and an interior cell phone pocket, patch pocket, and zipped pocket. The price is far below your budget, which is always nice too.

I know, so many of the bags I am recommending are Marc Jacobs or Marc by Marc. The fact of the matter is the price is right and the practicality and usability is there. This bag features double top handles along with an optional shoulder strap. Again, you will need all the hands you can get. Why I really love this bag is the pockets; double front buckle pockets, front outside zip pocket, and inside cell phone pockets. I would definitely opt for dark plum.
Most of the handbags I picked are rather similar and similar in the color range. I would definitely opt for neutrals that can last for a while so that you get as much use out of the bag as possible. Don't completely shoot down the option of a designated diaper bag though, some of only look like a diaper bag when you open them up. Most of all congratulations and good luck with your little girl on her way!!
